More time in front of the computer and less time shooting has actually allowed more time to be out and about during the weekends, which has been a welcome break before things get busy again. One weekend a friend was visiting and we went to go see Endeavor in its temporary home at the California Science Center. It felt almost magical to touch the tires that flew into space and see the atmosphere-burned streaks on the tiles of the space shuttle. It automatically makes you want to dream a little bigger, and stand in awe of the people who already did.

Would have love to see some traditional pictures of guests while dinning on tables. PS. Do you have individual picture of the sponsors walking at the church. Calvin and Angela were married at the amazing Hidden Chateau in West Hills. Thanks to Hannah for helping me capture their day.
I love the quiet anticipation during the moments before the wedding.
Their first look started off with a very sweet hug, and then Calvin just peeked around.
The first time that they got to actually see everything pulled together
Their wedding was the perfect mix of style and quirkiness, from the gorgeous flowers to the "face" programs.
Calvin and Angela wrote their own vows for each other.
A quiet moment to pray together
For their guestbook, people left thumbprints (and in this case, a footprint) as leaves on a beautiful illustration of a tree.

A few years ago I traveled to Washington D.C. a hair too early to witness the annual cherry blossom festival, so it was a joy to see this heady burst of blossoms all over the lake. We had a good time tromping around enjoying the ducks (though I don't think the ducks enjoyed it as much) and the scenery.
I love little Joshua's cheerful expression sitting on the toy car.
We were trying to get Joshua to run towards the ducks, but this collected little tyke was content to admire from afar.
These are the baby's new shoes, a little large now, but he'll grow into them soon.
Though they sort of laughed at me, I think it's always good to remember the time when your kid was small enough that he could easily pass through your legs and show up triumphantly on the other side.

Though Tony and I have been back in Los Angeles for about three months now, we haven't spent as much time as we'd like exploring. There is something immensely satisfying about getting lost (or as "lost" as you can possibly get with a GPS) and finding something new. At least new to us. So when we found these old trains, we (ok.. I) got really excited and made a pit stop.
We also saw Naveen Andrews there, watching his son in the play area. Tony got really excited about it because he had been faithfully embroiled in the plot twists and turns of Lost for years now, but after pacing around like dorks for a good ten minutes we finally decided to be grown up about it and not bother him. We just consoled ourselves with some good old buttered popcorn.
I would have loved to see pics of Naveen and his son playing there, they are so cute together as father and son, but I love even more how respectful you were to Naveen and allowing him to have uninterupted "Daddy" time. How lovely!

It's definitely a different experience walking around campus with former Bruins, and they told me all sorts of new, interesting things about UCLA (which I find really sad since I lived within walking distance to UCLA for a whole year).
Rivalry is no joke at UCLA. Apparently the bear "hibernating" is really special speak for "protect our mascot" from certain Trojans. The image on the right is the building where they first met. Cute.
Looking forward to their wedding in December. :)
It's interesting that under "irony" your dog Myra is all "head" and no body. I suspect you used a wide angle lens and shot standing straight up from Myra. At first glance I thought perhaps her body was "buried" in the sands. You are a wonderful photographer!

It has also been a bit of a mini-food tour these past two days since a friend was in town, that meant late night lines at Pinks and lunches at Portos and Philippes. We also headed up to Griffith Observatory and watched the last vestiges of sunlight disappear from the smoggy Los Angeles skyline.
I shot Paul and Lan's first engagement in Orange County, which you can find here. For their second shoot, we headed up to downtown Los Angeles. Union Station is a gorgeous, moody space with a lot of architectural details.
By the second time around, I barely had to tell them anything, they did everything all on their own.
As the train started moving a fellow popped his head out to take a peek at what was going on. The resulting picture was quite funny (and don't worry Paul & Lan, I have a picture sans the uninvited guest).
Afterward, we strolled around nearby Olvera street in search for some cold drinks (it was a really hot day), and we took a few more pictures.
Paul serenading Lan before Lan took the guitar and started playing herself. :)
