April showers seem to have made an early appearance this
year, so while I'm waiting out the rain, here are a few pictures from the
endlessly fascinating city that is Las Vegas.
I went there this past February for WPPI, which was a great time to
learn, be inspired, and also have a little fun.
We also ventured out a bit to Red Rock Canyon just as the
sun was setting to take a few pics. Here
are a few images of the lovely Kelly, more images later.
I heard that it had snowed in California while people were
on their way to WPPI, but unfortunately I missed it. However, I did get to catch an encore
performance. Flurries of snow pelted a
portion of the 15 freeway on my drive back.
The desert is remarkably beautiful when covered in snow.
And because I can never seem to get enough of Vegas, I
recently committed my most impulsive act of the year (so far) -- I signed up for the
Rock n' Roll marathon in Las Vegas. The
half/full marathon is an idea that I've tossing around for
about a year now. That combined with the
lure of nighttime Vegas lights and music made this difficult for my compulsive nature to resist. And along the way I've collected a few hardy
friends and family willing to run their first marathon right along with
me. Misery certainly loves a whole lot
of company. J
Or so it felt all during the month of December. I traveled up to San Francisco two out of four weekends that month for an engagement session and a wedding. And every time I travel up there I always have a new appreciation for SF.
There is nothing quite as nice as a sunny day in San Francisco, especially when you throw in a ferry ride.
It is amazing to see the small town mentality that still pervades Sausalito. And despite the fact that it was remarkably chilly, the only thing we were craving was ice cream.
This reminds me of all the houseboats we saw in Amsterdam.
The quintessential view of the Golden Gate bridge from the
Marin headlands. It was a bit more challenging to reach with public transportation, but the view is always breathtaking. We literally had ten minutes before we had to race back to catch the last ferry.
Beautiful! So where are the pictures of you and Tony? =0]
(01.24.11)these SF pics are breathtaking!
(01.27.11)Beautiful pictures. The last pic of this set is so unusual to the ones we normally associate to SF. The Golden Gate pic is Epic.
(04.01.11)There is a lot of sunshine and sweetness in both Jay and
Gisela, it was impossible to not feel like a part of all the love. It was such a privilege to be able to witness
this wedding.
Congratulations Jay and Gisela! May you be visiting another exotic little
slice of paradise for your next trip. J
Phoebe, these are Amazing!!!! I Love them! The attention to detail and the colors together look beautiful. Thanks to you & Vivian for coming out to PV and shooting some awesome pixs. Can't wait to receive the rest of them.
(11.17.10)Wonderful pictures. Great job. Thank you for sharing. Here is the video I put together for Jay and Gisela. http://vimeo.com/16891481 . I even got a shot of you in it. Peace.
(11.18.10)History is everywhere in Rome. We were fortunate enough to spend a brief
three days there a few months ago, and catch a glimpse of this amazing city.
At the steps of Santa Maria del Popolo
The Vatican museum is covered in art from floor to ceiling,
crammed full of things I had only seen in art history books.
St. Peter's basilica is rather awe-inspiring to look at from the floor, but it was even more amazing to view the 5pm mass from the dome. We were on our way to the cupola, which affords one of the best views of Rome (and trust me, there are a lot).
the Rome pictures are beautifully detailed and gorgeous.
(11.17.10)There will be lots of great things in store for the blog,
but the busyness of the moment means that I haven't updated as much as I'd
like. I will be out of the office in Mexico
to shoot Gisela and Jay's intimate cliffside wedding and I can't be more
excited. Be back soon!
In the meantime, here's an image of a secluded beach we found the last time we were in Mexico.
