I knew even from their engagement that Jen & Dave are a special couple, so it was no surprise that the rest of their friends and family was equally fun. They made everything easy. :)
It was a gorgeous day for their event.
After the ceremony, the whole wedding group walked behind the Mariachi band as they paraded around the street. Kudos to the talented team of Two Penny Productions for keeping up with the crowd with all their equipment. :)
The wedding group partied it up for the rest of the night at the Blue Parrot.
Did I mention that their whole group is incredibly musically talented? There were a lot of performances that night, including a very sweet surprise song performed by Dave for Jen.
At the end of the night there was a fire dance, which was amazing! Kelly and I were transfixed.
We had a great time in Playa del Carmen, and were so honored to be able to capture their beautiful wedding day. Congrats Jen and Dave!
See their slideshow here . Enjoy!
This is beautiful! I love your eye, you see things so differently, it's fantastic I saw your website and it's great!!
(03.11.10)"Oh won't these photographers go away..?" The poor groomsmen head off for a drink to relax and of course we can't resist following them.
The whole bridal party was a lot of fun to work with, they were game for almost anything, and made our work really easy. I love the bridesmaid dresses with pockets!
Tiffany and Cody's wedding reception was held at a beautiful yacht in Newport. Despite the rain, everything came out beautifully. I love the small touches and details that the whole family put together to make the wedding special for Tiffany and Cody. The ship was named Destiny, and Kelly and I both caught a picture of the adorable ringbearer peeking over the side.
After a few comments I thought I'd clarify, they offered both champagne and apple cider. She is, of course, drinking apple cider (so did we, for the record).
The faces of the Cody and his family were very sweet when an emotional Tiffany walked down the aisle.
The dance floor opened up for the father-daughter and mother-son dances, but a few kiddies decided to jump the gun.
Tiffany and Cody's guests partied it up for the rest of the trip and showed no signs of stopping even when the boat started docking. It was a very fun night to watch and be a part of.
Their wedding was truly a joining of families, and it was so heartwarming to see how joyful everyone was. Kelly and I were so glad to be able to witness and capture this day. Tiffany and Cody, thank you for having us! Hope you guys are having an awesome time in Europe (though of course you are!).
Love the Land Ho! pic and of course the cute little Asian girl. The picture of the father during the dance is so heartwarming!
(01.25.10)Beautiful pictures! Came across your work via twitter. Lovely wedding, and love your photos with the couple on the beach.
(01.27.10)LOVE the pics Phoebe!!! Thanks to you and Kelly for capturing life long memories...can't wait to see the rest of the pictures!
(02.01.10)Beautiful photos, Phoebe and Kelly! Looks like everyone had a great time!
(02.01.10)More important than what was outside of the rings was what was inside the rings, simple engravings that spoke about their love for each other. Don't get me wrong though, the engagement ring was quite gorgeous as well, but one reason why some cultures wear their wedding ring on their left ring finger is because it is believed to be the vena amoris (or "vein of love" and runs directly to your heart). I think the engraving inside the rings is a really special way to keep those words close to your heart.
All the gorgeous flower arrangements were provided by Chelsea Leah Flowers. Tammie also rocked it out with her red shoes.
Their wedding started off at the Pacific Asia Museum. I love weddings because they are very much family affairs, and it's so amazing to see everyone pull together for two people that they love.
The bubbles were supposed to be saved for after the ceremony, but I found a willing accomplice to give me a preview. :)
Tammie was escorted down the aisle by her brothers.
After the ceremony they had a traditional tea ceremony.
Their reception was an intimate affair at the Panda Inn Restaurant, rich with love and humor. There was plenty of food, laughs, some tears, toasts, and a few entertaining games masterminded by Tammie's two brothers.
Hi Phoebe - You and your "helpers" were amazing... thanks for capturing the day!
(01.03.10)Wow! Awesome photos, Phoebe!
(01.04.10)Love the pictures Phoebe and the background information about the 'vena amoris'. Very educational!
(01.04.10)Claudia and her leading ladies have some fabulous shoes.
Kelly headed over to the guys' rooms to take some pictures of the prep, except there wasn't much left, so they shot some fun portraits.
I don't know exactly how this shot came about, but it was pretty funny, and I said I'd put it up. :)
Their ceremony was at Saint Vincent de Paul.
Afterward we headed out to their alma mater, USC, to get a few shots of the new Mr. and Mrs.
They were practicing their dance for the reception, so I got a sneak peek.
The reception was held at a little downtown oasis called the Los Angeles River Center and Garden. There Claudia and Felipe incorporated a lot of traditional details like talavera vases and hanging papel picado. :)
Congratulations Claudia and Felipe! We had an awesome time, everyone was so much fun! Have an awesome time in Napa!
These came out so well! They make me warm and tingly inside. :) It was so much fun shooting with you. I hope we get to do it again soon!
Congrats, Claudia & Felipe! You two were so much fun. :)
