They both made vows not only to each other, but also made some very touching promises to their families.
It was a great night with a fun-loving crowd and a very much in love couple. Congratulations Phillip and Evelyn!
It's a little mind-boggling to think that by this year all
my college roommates will be married.
When I showed up at Gloria's house, amidst all the hustle and bustle of wedding day preparations, all these funny memories came
flooding back of the good times in our apartment.
Experiencing weddings as a guest is very different from
experiencing it as a photographer. For
one thing, you don't get the best view on the house. But I was able to hear the oos and ahhs when
flower girl KariAnne made her way down the aisle in a radio flyer, and there
wasn't a dry eye in the house when Gloria and Jason spoke words of thanks and
love to their parents during the ceremony.
We also went to her bridal shower a few weeks before, and I can't resist sharing how pretty everything was. I was too busy munching on everything, but Krissy took a few good shots of all that loveliness. You can see her images below. The spread at the bridal shower was a veritable pu-pu platter of all the good things to eat in Los Angeles. Gloria's bridesmaids definitely know food!
I'm sure that Jason and Gloria are currently enjoying a
gorgeous Hawaiian sunset right now, and getting some well-deserved rest on
their honeymoon. That or they are decked out in matching Lakers jerseys watching the game together. There's nothing like unity in marriage. =) Regardless, congratulations!!
wow, fabulous job with the getting ready shots. although, i'm offended that you didn't post my obnoxious poses ;)
(05.18.10)I love how you shot from above, on the make up shot! I will have to try that sometime, such a cool angle! :) I love how you used the piano for the purple shoes and the ring too. great job!
(05.20.10)These pics are awesome. I'm sad to have missed this! (Boooo to school!) See you guys soon!
(05.24.10)When the ring bearers came down the aisle, one of them said very seriously to me, "Watch out, the bubbles!" So cute. Apparently he was worried for my camera.
Love the cool shades (bride) and goofy expressions (ringbearers)
I knew they were a stylish couple from their engagement session, but it was amazing to see all of the details and DIY touches in their wedding. My favorite is this amazing photobooth, which Ron built from scratch (with help from Aileen).
Thanks so much Ron and Aileen for having us
out. Congratulations!
Thanks also to Kelly for assisting. :)
not biased or anything... but u take amazing photos! :)
(05.03.10)I met Katie and Kip about a year and a half ago, and they are a fun, cute couple. I was very honored that they were game enough to be my first engagement session a year ago. So it was really exciting to be able to witness their lovely, intimate wedding at the chic Belamar Hotel in Manhattan Beach. Their wedding day kicked off in a way I think every wedding should... with a spa pedicure.
The only drawback is that sandwiches and manicures don't mix.The gorgeous couple :)
I love the vibe of the Belamar hotel, it fits their personalities perfectly.
Kip brewed beer and bottled them as favors for the wedding. Amazing, right?
The adorable flower girl took her job very seriously.
I love their wedding party, such a fun group!
Katie and Kip are diehard USC grads and former members of the marching band, so there was no way that this night would end without a surprise appearance from the Trojan marching band.
Thanks Krissy for helping me capture the event. :)
Congratulations Katie and Kip!
Love, love, love these pictures, Phoebe! You have a true gift, my friend. Thank you for photographing my wedding and being such an awesome friend during all the planning. I love you, woman!

(08.02.15)After Playa del Carmen I packed up my bags again
and started
my drive to Las Vegas. It was a gorgeous
gorgeous day for a drive, the clouds were lovely and there was (still)
snow in
the mountains. A double rainbow broke
out after a small bout of rain just as Tony's favorite U2 song came on,
and it
was one of those moments when you felt really blessed to be alive. :)
WPPI was an amazing experience. It
was very inspiring to be in the same room
with people who truly
truly love the craft. I roomed with Kati and we
had a great time, she wrote a really great entry about
it which kind of sums it all up. Sadly all my ambitious plans of
shooting around
Vegas went to dust from the slew of platform classes and events. As soon as I drove home on Thursday the first
thing I did was fall asleep pass out on the couch from
exhaustion.
My parents were also in town, and I was so glad to be able to spend a few moments with them. There's nothing like a few continents of separation to make you remember how good it is when your family is around. My dad joked that I got all my photography interests from him, and I think that's true enough, my dad is never without his camera.
After Vegas Tony and I were able to attend Dave and
Sharon's beautiful wedding at the Atheneum in Pasadena. The talented team of Orange Turtle
Photography covered their wedding, but I
still shot a few images of the gals prepping before putting away my
camera for
the night. When I arrived the music was
playing and everyone was very relaxed, Sharon was the most mellow,
relaxed
bride I have ever seen . I made some
promises to certain bridesmaids that I wouldn't post certain pictures,
so here
are a few of the other images:
I love the adorable bridesmaid shoes.
Sharon made a gorgeous bride. I love the goofiness of
this picture when they were deciding on "poses." The girls are fun. :)
beautiful pictures! i've been on that yacht/boat thing before! so cooool! :)
(06.21.10)Thank you so much. Phillip and I Looooove the photos. Excellent work, as always!!
