(04.13.12)Roger and Pattie are two just incredibly sweet and kind people
and I knew when I first met them that I'd love working with them.
Roger spontaneously tucked a flower in her hair. How cute is that?
Roger and Pattie, thanks for braving the cold wind (and yes,
even chillier water!), and being so lovely in front of the camera. I look forward to shooting your wedding!
These guys look like naturals in front of the camera. I especially love the pic of the two of them looking at each other in the field. So sweet! And the last two photos...LOVE!!
(05.19.11)Love the backdrops and her outfits! Love the pictures!!
(08.13.10)Many (bridesmaid) hands make light work of Lan's beautiful dress.
Their reception was at the Turnip Rose in Costa Mesa.
I love all the beautiful close-ups in these shots and the emotion on the dad's face! Plus, I love the fish eye view.
(07.09.10)LOVE IT!!! Love the one where she's about to enter the ceremony with her dad , and then the wide angle ceremony shot! And every single last one on the beach, especially the rocks and the surf board!!! amazing girl!
(07.12.10)beautiful shots of a gorgeous couple! beautiful wedding! i love the one where lan is holding her dad, while he's so emotional... really touching.
(07.12.10)Hi, really loved the pictures - thanks for sharing them! Made me remember it all over again. Loved the beach pics, and the Dad pics - which made me cry at the current moment. (sniff!)
(07.12.10)LOVE ALL the pics phoebe!!! :)
(07.13.10)It was a bit of a cool, overcast day when I met Connie and Patrick for their engagement. Though they were looking for a more "Californian" engagement session, the coolness I'm sure was a welcome change from the hot weather they've been enduring in Texas. Surfers were out en masse in the relaxed little beach town of San Clemente.
Connie and Patrick are a fun couple to work with, a perfect mixture of sweetness and silliness.
Connie is a bit of a Lakers fan.
These photos look great Pheebs!!! I love em!!! The train photos came out great too :)
(07.02.10)I knew even from their engagement that Jen & Dave are a special couple, so it was no surprise that the rest of their friends and family was equally fun. They made everything easy. :)
It was a gorgeous day for their event.
After the ceremony, the whole wedding group walked behind the Mariachi band as they paraded around the street. Kudos to the talented team of Two Penny Productions for keeping up with the crowd with all their equipment. :)
The wedding group partied it up for the rest of the night at the Blue Parrot.
Did I mention that their whole group is incredibly musically talented? There were a lot of performances that night, including a very sweet surprise song performed by Dave for Jen.
At the end of the night there was a fire dance, which was amazing! Kelly and I were transfixed.
We had a great time in Playa del Carmen, and were so honored to be able to capture their beautiful wedding day. Congrats Jen and Dave!
See their slideshow here . Enjoy!
Beautiful shots! Just amazing! Love them!!!!!!!!
(03.14.10)Phoebe, your pictures are fantastic! You really captured the day beautifully. Thank you so much!
(03.14.10)What a cute and sweet wedding! Love your slideshow!!
(03.14.10)These are fantastic! Looks like it was an amazing wedding! Glad you had a good time on top of it. I'd love to see the rest of them, and the post production is fantastic. My favorites are the bride and groom goofing off and the guitar and speaker/vocalist. They're all wonderful.
(03.14.10)that is an AWESOME picture of fire dancers

(03.14.10)You captured a beautiful and relaxed wedding, Pheebs!
(03.15.10)This is beautiful! I love your eye, you see things so differently, it's fantastic I saw your website and it's great!!
(03.11.10)Shooting a fellow photographer is always a little intimidating, but Jen made it really easy. It felt like we were just hanging out and chatting about equipment (and usually when I talk about that with other people, their eyes just glaze over). Jen loves capturing people (and dogs!) as naturally as possible, which is totally my style as well. And like many photographers (including yours truly), she's not fond of being in front of the camera. But I think Jen and Dave did a great job. :) Below is a personal favorite of mine, a shot of a shot at one of their local watering holes.
Who can resist this cute little face?
With such gorgeous spots near you, it's not too hard to understand why Jen and Dave chose to shoot around their area.
Phoebe,
You really captured Jen and Dave's personality! Your pictures are terrific! I can't wait to see what you do at the wedding in Mexico!
Lynn (Jen's Mom)
What beautiful pictures! The wedding is going to be absolutely stunning! Can't wait.
(11.30.09)Phoebe,
These pictures gave me chills - they are amazing. You truly captured Jen and Dave... can't wait to meet you in Mexico :0)
(11.30.09)Beautiful- very well done!
(12.10.09)I met Evelyn and Phillip on a lovely Sunday afternoon to do their engagement shoot. Evelyn and Phillip are one of those envious couples who have their wedding act together, and I am in complete awe at how they've managed to whip their wedding into shape. I think they deserve an award, and that will be that they will probably not go to their honeymoon all exhausted like many other couples (including yours truly).
Here are a few pics from their session.
You wouldn't be able to tell from most of their engagement pics, but most of the time they looked like this (below). They were constantly laughing and teasing each other, and brought a lot of energy to their shoot. I thoughtlessly chimed into a few of their more private conversations with some inane comment or the other (I am known to do that from time to time, sorry guys!). But they were pretty nice about it. I am always full of opinions, even when I'm busy shooting. :)
Afterwards we headed down to the beach for the quintessential California engagement shoot. The light was lovely, and by that time they were pros at ignoring me while I photographed them. :)
This last shot they decided on their own. Way to take the "plunge," guys! Pacific ocean water, even on a summer evening, isn't always the warmest.
All in all they were a fun, sweet couple, and I had a great time with them. I am excited to shoot their wedding next year. Time to test out my seaworthiness. :)
Beautiful shots! I was trying to pick a favorite, but it's too hard to choose!
(08.09.09)This time around I still ended up with an empty bucket, but that was because we gave up our catch to a family. We hit a relatively desolate stretch of beach about ten minutes before midnight, and waited, finally following the birds to the end of the beach where our flashlights revealed lightning quick flashes of silver. Many of them are ridiculously quick, I can't tell you how often I attempted to chase one down only to be smacked by a cold Pacific ocean wave for my troubles. They are also small and squirmy, and I was very leery of squishing them.
The videos below are courtesy of Vivian's camera, starring Ricky (with commentary by Vivian) and the Grunions. :)
This is awesome! Have you seen Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead? There is a scene where Christina Applegate and her man have their first date watching the Grunion run. I had completely forgotten about it until now!
(07.27.09)I'm a little skeptical of doing that again also...
but then it was large amounts of fun, and if anything, always good times.
I'm glad we decided not to take them home.
(07.28.09)Grunions = fun. Glad it was a success! It's amazing how they return (in the same abundance) every year!
(07.28.09)
Exceptional scene beside the sea .
(05.12.16)This place is very and natureal pleasant .
